:( Sad face :(

We go next week to see Dr. Menon again and when he called today he said we will schedule another heart cath to see more accurately what her pressures are. I was not expecting to have to do that again. It is only an out patient surgery but it still SUCKS! It's all day, anethesia, waiting, and well, it's surgery. I'm so sad today. I think it just hit me that it's getting close. I don't want to. I want to run away to Mexico! (ok not Mexico but somewhere!) I'm trying to be optimistic but right now I don't have it in me. I want her to be normal, healthy and fine! It's sucks.
To clear up some confusion, her heart cath will NOT be next week, just her checkup, at the checkup we will schedule her heart cath, it will probably be the 2nd or 3rd week in August. Also a heart cath is just a minor out patient surgery, this in not the big heart surgery (The Glen), that will most likely be in September. This heart cath will tell us more accurately when that will be :)

4 years and 4 months!

Yesterday was Libbi's 4 month checkup and Jerzi's 4 year. Seriously I cannot believe Libbi is 4 months old. SOO crazy! Anyway she looked good, not much change from 2 weeks ago. She got one little shot in her thigh but was super brave! Jerzi got one to but made Libbi go first, she held her hand and said 'its ok honey' but when it came to be her turn she was not so sweet to me! She was crying and being very dramatic, i told the doctor she would probably limp out to the car. She did. She was fine a few minutes later and now tells everyone she got a shot and "it hurt so much like someone was cutting her finger off" What?!? O well gotta love 4 year olds!! Libbi's 4 month statistics are:
Length 24 inches 45%
Weight 11 lbs 14 oz 15%
Head 39.5 cm 15%

Fun with T and T!

We had so much fun on Friday with Jerseys family. They came from Arizona to visit Utah and we met up with them for pizza, build a bear and some water fun! Tatum and Koy are only 5 days apart, sure to be boyfriend/girlfriend pen pals! Little Tucker is only a few months older than Jerz too. Tyce Jex and Crew came too, we had alot of fun!

Look at those cutest faces! Jex, Tucker, Jerzi. When we went to name our bears Jerzi named hers Tucker :) She must have a crush! Then Heidi said when she told Tucker about it he renamed his bear Jerzi! Ha ha how cute are they!?!

Jex, Jerzi, Tucker, Tatum, Koy, Tyce, Crew (where is Lib? Hmm. Don't know.)

Tuck, Koy, Tatum, Jerzi playing at the Gateway splash pad.

Cute kids. Thanks for the good time, we can't wait for you to be here for good!

Libbi even got her own animal, a cute little lamb, it is actually a pet for the bigger bears! This place is crazy, purses, cell phones, shades, swimsuits and much more for your bear! We made it simple so we didn't have to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for our bears:)

(What is the deal with my camera dates? I am buying a new one asap. It bugs me! It was not Jan 7 2005, it was July 17 2009!! Aren't these things supposed to be smart?!? BUG!)

Heaven babies

My kids are experiencing too much info on heaven lately (read our other blog to hear Koy's experience) Yesterday we went to lunch with our cute friends from Arizona that lost their baby, Jersey, to a heart defect. I had explained to my kids that the kids we were going to meet had a baby sister named Jersey that lives in heaven. It was a very nice time (pic's and more to come later) well then today my Jerzi brought me a stack of about 6 pieces of paper that she had drawn people on and said "Mom these are the babies that live in heaven, one of them is named Jersey" Each page had 2 or 3 people (babies) on them with a rainbow on top :( How sad. She is so cute though and so thoughtful to remember these sweet babies. Way too young to have to experience this type of thing though. Anyway, we will keep these drawings because they are super special to me. And so is my Jerzi and baby Jersey :)

MIR-A-CLE: Noun

mir-a-cle: noun; 1. an event that appears to be contrary to the laws of nature and is regarded as an act of God; 2. something admired as a marvelous creation

I've had this on the top of Libbi's blog for quite sometime but today as I was watching her i was thinking 'she truely is a miracle' so for that reason I wanted to post this and remember what a true miracle Libbi is to our family! We love her to pieces.

Free for July!

We went to see Dr. Menon today and we are free for another month. This is getting exhausting. 2-3 days before every visit I am a nervous wreck. I can't sleep (i wish i couldn't eat but for me it's the opposite) I can't focus I'm irritable It sucks. But then we go and in an instant I am happy, cheerful, energetic and tired! Ha ha (that's from the lack of sleep the previous nights) Anyway Libbi's weighed 11 lbs. 7 oz. and her oxygen sats were hovering at 84% today which is quite a bit lower than 2 weeks ago with Dr. Rose, where they were 88-91% Dr. Menon said that because they were so much lower we could rule out the banding surgery which was a relief! ...but, yes there is always a but.. it only means we are getting closer to the Glen procedure. She will need this mid September is his guess. She will be 6 months old then and he said she would do great at that age so even if she is still above 75% they will probably do it then. If she happens to drop below 75% before mid September, they will do the surgery then but that is doubtful. He also said when it gets low they could send her home with oxygen for a while but that this really would not be necessary because once they hit 4 months they do very well in surgery.
Another thing we discovered today that was very dissapointing is that this surgery will just be the Glen. We thought they could go in and on top of doing the Glen they would fix the valves if the right side was big enough to function, or do a one and one half repair if it was too small. This is not the case. They will just to the Glen for now and then watch her and decide later on which route to take meaning she will for sure be having another surgery around age 2. This makes me want to bawl. I don't want to take my baby in for another surgery, well i don't want to take my baby in to 1 surgery, but especially at age 2! This one coming up she will still be little and not understand a whole lot but at age 2.. well it will just be awful. That's all i can think. For now i am grateful she is home and well and we are happy! One month at a time around here, that's the best i can do!

Grateful thoughts

I can't believe what a nice world we live in. In the past week I have received 2 different emails offering me free gifts. One from holditbaby.com letting me know they wanted to give me their toy organizer, this thing is awesome, i can't wait to get it! Someone requested that I get the gift and i'm guessing it's a friend so if it was you, THANK YOU! I am very grateful! There is a link to holditbaby.com on the sidebar. Also, mambaby.com sent me a 6 pack of personalized binkies with 'Libbi' printed on them. I had tried to order them and they weren't shipping to the USA for a while and this nice lady emailed me asking if I could wait until October, I told her I wanted them for the hospital when she has surgery so they didn't get lost and with that she sent them to me free of charge and said good luck with your baby. I just cannot believe the kindness of these wonderful people. It makes my heart warm. Thank you thank you thank you! And not just to those who give free gifts but to all of you who are praying for us and thinking of us. We love you!
This is Paul Cardell's CHD video. (I put it at the bottom of the blog, it fits best there..) It is shocking how many people, young and old are dealing with the same type of things we are. Take 9 minutes and watch, these are some of the cutest babies i've seen!! Libbi is about 6 and a half minutes into the video. (make sure you scroll down and pause my music playlist so you can hear his music, he is a pianist, it is very pretty!)
