My mom has wanted a pic of her and her grandkids for sometime now and last night we finally did it! Well, i was absent, i had to work, but thanks to Jana, my Mom, and Kurt, they got it done! Here are a few of my favs.

Libbi is great!

So sorry, i put that we 'hopefully' would be home at 5:30 the day of her cath then never updated. I hope some of you weren't worried that something went wrong. Everything went great, so great that we took off Friday morning for camping! Yes, we went, she did awesome, wasn't bothered at all by the high elevation. I kept giving her tylenol all day Friday just in case but she really didn't seem to be in any pain from her cath. By Saturday I stopped giving her any medicine and she was just fine. She had lots of fun camping, she had her own little mobile, the leaves on the trees! Anyway, i have lots of cute pics to come but i gotta go unpack from a way-to-long-in-the-woods-with-no-water camping trip!

Heart cath

Libbi is done with her heart cath. It took them about 3 and a half hours, they told us 3 so that last half hour i was wiggin! Apparantly they did a full echo first is why it took so long... would've been nice to know :) Everything looks well and on track for the Glenn in 4 weeks. They put a coil on one of the arteries to stop the flow of blood in that artery. If i ever totally understand what they say, it will be amazing. I learn something new every day! Dr. Day did the cath and said after the echo he called Dr. Menon to make sure he wanted to go ahead with the cath because he felt everything looked good in the echo. Dr. Menon said yes, go ahead with the cath, he wanted it done so when they all meet the surgeons could have ALL the info. Then we asked about camping this weekend, Dr. Day said no, keep her home, he's afraid her o2 sats would get to low in the high elevation, and he was worried her wounds from the cath might get dirty and infected. Dr. Menon says 'O no she's just fine, go ahead and take her, just don't let her legs get dirty' Hmmm. Ok. Maybe we shouldn't have asked and just done what we 'feel' is best. I really wish they could be on the same page once in a while :) But i'm not complaining, i'm glad to have every angle covered, it just makes it hard to make decisions. Got here at 8, we'll be leaving by 5:30... we hope :)

September 10

We got a call today to schedule the surgery. I thought we would wait until after her heart cath on Thursday but because of the tight schedule they called today :( It made it real. Anyway it is on September 10th. It's a Thursday, 4 weeks from now. It will be a stressful wait but i know she will be fine. The 2-3 weeks before she will be back in a bubble. They said if she were to get sick they couldn't do the surgery and we would have to reschedule so dig out your hand sanitizer cause it's back!! Hopefully my kids will stay healthy when school starts!!

Appt with Dr. Menon

We saw Dr. Menon yesterday. I feel like i'm repeating myself alot but now you see how we feel :) He said the same thing we already knew, i felt like it was kind of a wasted trip but Kurt felt differently. He explained why they are doing the heart cath before the surgery, to make sure her pressures aren't too high for the Glen. Also to see if there is anything else that needs to be done while in surgery. This makes sense so they don't open her up and find more to do, this way they will see it all and have a plan. I feel better about that. Her o2 sats are still mid 80's which is good, meaning she is happy and not in any misery. When they get low i guess babies get uncomfortable and grumpy. I am grateful she will not get that way. It's looking like we will be doing surgery before her sats get that low. He said there is no reason to wait for them to drop, there has been no evidence suggesting they do better the longer you wait for the Glen, once they are 6 months just get it done i guess. I have mixed emotions about that but i'm putting my trust in the doctors. He also said give or take a few weeks so we can plan what is best for our schedule. We are thinking the 2nd or 3rd week in September. I want to get Koy settled in Kindergarten, he starts Aug 31, but then his birthday is Oct 21 so I want to be done and home for that! Also with Kurts work this is best. We will see, thanks for your support! Also, i got new bracelets, they are red this time (sorry boys, i know pink was in!) if you want to wear one let me know and i'll get you one!

Heart cath

Dr. Menon called on Friday and they have scheduled a heart cath for Thursday August 13. They will then pass all the info onto the surgeon and get the surgery scheduled. It will probably be first of September sometime.
